Kim Kardashian Speaks Out On The Gun Control Laws In America

Following the Uvalde Texas shooting, the gun control law debate took off once again around the country with important individuals from all walks of life weighing in on the situation and the political right and left polarized once again.

Among the important individuals from the entertainment industry who spoke up on the matter were talk shows hosts Jimmy Kimmel, James Corden, Musician Harry Styles who pledged $1 million to the cause of better gun control, and actor and Uvalde native Mathew McConaughey. A surprising entry in the list to speak up on the subject was Kim Kardashian. The reality tv star and businesswoman took to twitter to write a lengthy tweet in the regard which was filled with emotions.

Kim K talked about how the weapons that are readily available in America are meant for warfare and are very sophisticated tools that are designed specifically to take life. The mother of 4 talked about how the current gun control laws in the country are not adequate enough to protect our children. The star of Keeping up with the Kardashians said that right now America needs laws which work are, “fitting in today’s world.”

Kim talked about how a wide variety of factors were behind the shootings which are becoming a frequent occurrence in America including racism and hatred but the most immediate action that the lawmakers can take against the situation is restricting access to the weaponry by raising the legal age limit to purchase a weapon and also by banning assault weapons completely.

Kim K further added that these demands were immediate and no more time could be wasted. “We can’t accept it. We can’t have another five years go by without effective, impactful laws put in place to protect our kids. We are parents, we are mothers, we are begging and pleading for action.”

The Uvalde, Texas Shooting happened at Robb Elementary School where 18-year-old Salvador Ramos brought 2 AR 15s to school and shot and killed 2 teachers and 19 students. Eventually, after actions by the authorities Ramos was shot and killed himself in the incident.
