Louis Victor Piniella is a former professional baseball player and manager. As a midfielder, he played 16 seasons in the Major League Baseball with the Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Indians, Kansas City Royals and the New York Yankees. During his competitive career, he was named Rookie of the Year in 1969 and won two World Series titles with the Yankees. After his competitive career, Piniella coached the Yankees, Cincinnati Reds, Seattle Mariners, Tampa Bay Devil Rays and the Chicago Cubs. He won the 1990 World Series championship with the Reds and led the Mariners to four postseason appearances in seven years. He also won back-to-back trophies while playing for the Cubs.
